Galaxy A57 owners may want to avoid One UI 9.0 update

Samsung began rolling out One UI 9.0 for the Galaxy A57 outside Korea less than 24 hours ago, but several users who installed the update report a bug that prevents the phone from booting.

Multiple Galaxy A57 owners have posted about startup failures, and at least one affected user shared the issue on Reddit. Until more details emerge and a fix is provided, Galaxy A57 users may want to hold off on updating to One UI 9.0.

Workaround: boot into Safe Mode

A possible temporary fix appears to let users bypass an XML file error caused by the update until Samsung issues a permanent correction. The steps are:

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons.
Tap and hold Power Off until the Safe Mode button appears.
Select Safe Mode and wait for the phone to reboot.
Once the device has started in Safe Mode, reboot normally to exit Safe Mode and bypass the bug.
