Apple today released watchOS 27.2, the first major update to the watchOS 27 operating system. The update introduces Siri AI enhancements, extends Siri AI to additional languages, and includes other features, bug fixes, and security updates for Apple Watch.
watchOS 27.2 Siri AI improvements
According to Apple’s release notes, watchOS 27.2 enhances Siri AI with the ability to retain useful context from previous Siri interactions and recall past conversations, so you can ask Siri about something it told you before, like the restaurants it recommended last week. Siri AI can draw from a wider range of personal context when answering, including photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees, your voicemails, and improved results from Safari history and Reading List on your phone. The update also adds an Excluded Apps setting that lets you choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access from a single setting on your phone. Apple says Siri AI now provides faster responses on Apple Watch.
Siri AI in watchOS 27.2 is available in more languages, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Apple notes that Siri AI is not available in the EU or mainland China.
Download and availability
watchOS 27.2 can be downloaded through the Settings app on the Apple Watch or the Apple Watch app on a connected iPhone. Software can only be installed when the Apple Watch is on the charger and has over 50 percent battery.
