In a cutting-edge lab in Beijing’s Zhongguancun, often referred to as China’s Silicon Valley, a humanoid robot efficiently maneuvers through aisles filled with various products. This robot, developed by Beijing Galbot Co Ltd, has gained attention for its agility and precision, as demonstrated at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. The Chinese government is actively fostering the robotics industry through numerous initiatives and incentives, aiming to enhance cooperation between companies, universities, and research institutes. In Shenzhen, Guangdong province, a “robotics valley” is emerging as a hub for innovation, bringing together top universities, research institutes, and tech firms. The Chinese humanoid robot market is expected to reach 870 billion yuan by 2030, driven by potential applications in sectors like manufacturing and healthcare. Galbot, founded in May 2023 by Wang He, has quickly developed its first-generation robot, which is already operational in several Beijing pharmacies, managing thousands of medicines daily.
