The Brains on Silicon AI conference is set to make its debut in Dresden in 2025, marking a significant milestone for the local AI community. Emerging from initial meet-ups, this event promises to be one of the region’s most dynamic gatherings, attracting international experts, start-ups, and companies. Notable speakers include Philipp Klöckner, a tech investor known for his podcast “Doppelgänger Tech Talk,” and Prof. Frank H. P. Fitzek, a leading figure in communication networks and 6G research.
The Dresden AI community began its journey in 2023 with the establishment of the AI Network Dresden, supported by companies like digitalwert and ostec, alongside research and industry partners. AI Monday Dresden also emerged as a significant platform, bringing international speakers to the city through collaborations with Silicon Saxony and Cloud & Heat. These initiatives have fostered a vibrant ecosystem, spawning numerous events and meetups.
The upcoming conference will span two days in the fall of 2025, featuring a diverse range of topics from AI applications in businesses to discussions on digital sovereignty and future AI infrastructures. Attendees can look forward to presentations, an expo, a start-up zone, and a hackathon. Dresden aims to position itself not just as a semiconductor hub but as a leader in European AI innovation.
The event will serve as a platform for the regional community, showcasing projects from the AI Network Dresden and facilitating interactions between local start-ups and investors. The overarching goal is to establish Dresden as a lasting center for applied AI in Europe.
