Space Kinetic Corp., a company at the forefront of space and missile defense innovation, has successfully secured $12 million in seed funding. The Albuquerque-based firm, founded in 2022 by Scott Ziegler and Ryan Sullivan, has developed a groundbreaking, patented electromechanical system that deploys various smaller payloads at high velocities from a host satellite without the use of thrusters. This innovative approach has attracted significant investment from a consortium led by Balerion Space Ventures, with participation from several other venture firms, including Costa Mesa-based CerraCap Ventures. The company capitalized on early support from the New Mexico Lab-Embedded Entrepreneur Program at Los Alamos National Laboratory. As geopolitical tensions rise, Space Kinetic is positioned as a key player in the expanding multi-billion-dollar market for space superiority and missile defense systems.
