How did a Danish-Ukrainian company secure $2.8 million for AI threat detection?

Danish-Ukrainian company Dropla Tech ApS has secured €2.4 million in pre-seed funding to enhance its AI-driven explosive threat detection technology. The investment came from Maj Invest Holding, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, and Nordic venture capital firm Final Frontier. As of August 2025, Ukraine faces potential explosive contamination over 137,058 square kilometers, including occupied areas, as reported by the Ministry of Economy. Established in 2023 and based in Odense, Denmark, Dropla conducts research and development in Ukraine, focusing on minimizing risks from hidden explosives in conflict zones. The company boasts Europe’s most comprehensive landmine detection dataset, developed after extensive testing in Ukraine, and offers a system that functions independently of cloud connections, detecting threats with precision. The platform, Seer Complex, serves both military and humanitarian demining purposes. With ongoing demining efforts, Ukraine has reclaimed nearly 2,000 square kilometers for productive use in 2025, supported by international allies and a €93 million fund raised by the Demining Coalition.
