Which AI Hardware Stock Is the Best Buy: Micron or NVIDIA?

Micron Technology and NVIDIA Corporation are key players in the AI infrastructure sector, each offering unique strengths. Micron specializes in advanced memory chips essential for handling the vast data needs of AI, while NVIDIA is renowned for its GPUs that power intensive computing tasks. As demand for AI and high-performance computing rises, both companies are poised for growth, yet they present different investment profiles.

Micron is strategically positioned within transformative tech trends, such as AI, data centers, and autonomous vehicles. Its focus on DRAM and NAND memory solutions is crucial as AI adoption grows. Micron’s shift toward stable markets like automotive and enterprise IT has led to a more resilient revenue base, evidenced by a 37% revenue increase in Q3 2025. The company is also capitalizing on high-bandwidth memory demand, with its HBM3E products gaining traction. Micron’s collaboration with NVIDIA, as a core HBM supplier, and its expansion plans in Singapore highlight its commitment to AI market growth. Analysts predict a 33.9% revenue increase for Micron in fiscal 2026.

NVIDIA remains a leader in AI computing, with its GPUs widely used across various sectors. The company’s data center revenues surged by 56% in Q2 2026, driven by demand from cloud providers and enterprises. Its latest GPU platforms, Hopper 200 and Blackwell, are quickly being adopted, promising enhanced performance. NVIDIA’s recent approval to sell H20 chips in China could boost its revenue and presence in the Chinese market. The company’s fiscal 2026 revenues are expected to grow by 55.5%.

Both stocks have seen significant gains this year, with Micron’s shares rising 40.8% and NVIDIA’s 27.1%. Despite these increases, Micron’s valuation, with a lower price-to-sales multiple, offers a more affordable entry into the AI hardware market. Micron’s stronger EPS growth projection and lower valuation make it a more attractive investment choice compared to NVIDIA, according to analysts. Currently, Micron holds a strong buy rating, while NVIDIA is rated as a hold.
