Is Your Android Phone at Risk?

The Indian government has issued a critical security alert for millions of Android users due to serious vulnerabilities identified in various Android versions. These flaws could allow hackers to access sensitive data or cause denial-of-service attacks. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has classified this risk as high-severity, with vulnerabilities found in key components of the Android ecosystem, including the framework, runtime, system, and more. Issues were also found in components from companies like Imagination Technologies, MediaTek, and Qualcomm. Google confirmed that all current Android versions, including 13 through 16, are at risk. Security patches have been released, and users are urged to install these updates promptly to protect their devices. To update, users should check their phone’s settings for system updates and install the September 2025 security patch. If the update isn’t immediately available, it may take a few days as manufacturers roll out patches. This alert emphasizes the importance of staying vigilant and updating devices to safeguard personal data.
