Why does the Galaxy S26 Ultra have a bigger camera bump?

The Galaxy S26 Ultra, set to launch early next year, features a notably larger camera bump despite not incorporating new camera sensors. The bump measures 4.5mm in thickness, nearly double that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This increase is attributed to the phone’s slimmer 7.9mm body and the inclusion of wider aperture lenses. The device is equipped with a 200MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an F1.4 aperture, a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, a 12MP telephoto camera with an F2.4 aperture, and another 50MP telephoto camera with an F2.9 aperture and OIS. The wider apertures enable more light to reach the sensors, enhancing detail, reducing noise, and delivering brighter images. Coupled with an upgraded processor, these features promise improved photo and video quality. The series maintains a 12MP front camera across all models.
