Is Palantir investing US$2 billion in the UK after securing a Ministry of Defence deal?

Palantir Technologies, a leader in data analytics, is reinforcing its presence in the UK by committing to a £1.5 billion (US$2 billion) investment. This move coincides with a significant agreement with the UK Ministry of Defence to broaden the application of its AI software. A £750 million, five-year contract is expected to be finalized by the end of the year, replacing the current £75 million, three-year deal. The investment aims to enhance Palantir’s operations in sectors like health, policing, and defence, creating 350 jobs, including 200 directly at Palantir. Further details of this strengthened UK partnership are anticipated to be revealed during US President Donald Trump’s visit to the area. Palantir has chosen not to comment on the developments.
