AppSheet alternative that rebuilds apps from plain English

This AppSheet alternative is aimed at teams whose AppSheet app began as a spreadsheet and has outgrown a sheet — more records, more people and more process — and who prefer to describe fixes in plain English. The platform’s builder generates screens, tables, fields and workflows from your descriptions, while the data lives in an isolated Postgres database you can browse like a spreadsheet.

Why this AppSheet alternative fits growing spreadsheet apps

The database supports 27 field types and AI fields that categorize, summarize and score records. Workflows are created from descriptions and displayed as a visual diagram; every run is retained for 90 days together with its inputs and outputs so you can inspect failures and replay executions. Webhooks, in-app buttons and manual runs are available on every plan; scheduled workflows begin on the Business plan. When you want a change, you ask for it in chat and the build updates.

The platform keeps Google Sheets live if you choose, with read and write access limited to selected sheets, or you can import up to 250,000 records at once. There are 30+ native integrations and Zapier and n8n connectors on every plan. Apps are internal by default; public apps use a magic link or Google login. On phones the app runs in the browser or from the home screen and the camera can scan barcodes and QR codes.

Domino’s France is cited as a user example: Michael Villenave, its Head of Internal Comms, says the team used to sit on a huge backlog of app requests, and now anyone on the team can build what they need.

Pricing, limits and migration trade-offs

Every plan includes unlimited users, editors and apps, so adding people does not raise the bill. Plans listed are Free at $0, Pro at $25/mo, Business at $89/mo, Team at $300/mo and Enterprise at a custom price. Granular permissions and roles start at the Team plan.

There is no direct AppSheet import. The migration hub lists AppSheet, but the process requires importing your Sheets data first and then uploading up to eight narrated screen recordings or 20 captioned screenshots so the platform can plan the rebuild — a process that requires budgeting actual rebuild time for each app.
