Are Galaxy A34 users experiencing Netflix streaming issues after the latest update?

Smartphone users generally anticipate software updates for the new features, enhanced performance, and bolstered security they promise. However, not all updates deliver these benefits seamlessly. Recently, some Galaxy A34 users have encountered problems following a software update. Users in Latin American countries, particularly in Brazil, have reported that the September 2025 security update (A346MUBUBEYI7) has led to video streaming issues on their devices. They experience significant video distortion when using USB Type-C headphones or adapters during video streaming, particularly on Netflix and other similar apps. This distortion seems to stem from a conflict at the driver level between Widevine L1 hardware decryption and USB-C audio routing. The problem appears to be linked to the failure of the Widevine L1 handshake when the USB Type-C port is used for audio, forcing users to choose between using headphones or watching videos in SD instead of HD or Full HD. This downgrade occurs when the device can’t maintain Widevine L1 certification, reverting to L3. The issue seems connected to the MediaTek chipset in the Galaxy A34.
