Samsung has launched One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23 FE in the United States. This Android 16-based update arrives approximately two weeks after its international debut. It is already available for carrier-locked units on certain networks, with a firmware version of S711USQU6EYIF and a size of just under 3GB. The update will soon reach all locked and unlocked devices nationwide.
One UI 8 introduces several enhancements in system apps and user interface elements. Quick Share now boasts a full-screen layout with separate tabs for sending and receiving, while Samsung Internet offers a refreshed menu and improved customization options. Additionally, Calendar, Clock, and Reminders have expanded tools for managing alarms, events, and reminders.
Security has been bolstered with improved encryption and app isolation in Secure Folder. Samsung DeX now includes new display rotation settings and a refined interface. The Camera app features a new swipe gesture for quickly accessing control options. Multitasking is enhanced with an improved split-screen view and AI-assisted tools.
Although not a complete visual overhaul, One UI 8 continues Samsung’s effort to provide a smoother, more intelligent, and personalized user experience. It strengthens privacy, enhances app usability, and improves the overall cohesion of the Galaxy ecosystem. Health and wellness features have also been expanded.
The Galaxy S23 FE, which launched in 2023 with Android 13, is now receiving its third major Android OS update. It will also be eligible for future updates, including One UI 8.5 and One UI 9, which will introduce Android 17. Users can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install, and then tapping Install now once the download is complete.
