Ankored, a provider of software tools for youth sports safety and compliance, has successfully raised $4 million in a seed funding round led by Rally Ventures. This investment sees Justin Kaufenberg, a Managing Director at Rally and former CEO of SportsEngine, joining Ankored’s Board of Directors. The demand for enhanced background checks and incident reporting has increased following the SafeSport Act of 2017, and Ankored addresses this by offering automated tools to help administrators and coaches comply with necessary standards, such as concussion protocols and abuse prevention. Founder and CEO Seth Lieberman, inspired by his experiences as a parent of young athletes, emphasizes the company’s mission to ensure child safety and help organizations manage risk. Ankored integrates with major youth sports platforms, adding a compliance layer that adapts to local and state requirements in both the US and Canada. The platform is HIPAA-compliant, ensuring secure storage of health data. Lieberman aims to create a comprehensive system where administrators can access all necessary tools and services in one place.
