LeadStory, a pioneering platform in personalized news streaming, has announced a significant milestone with $2.75 million secured in Seed funding. This financial boost coincides with the launch of an innovative AI video search feature, aimed at transforming news consumption. Checker Media, led by ex-VICE Media Global President Jesse Angelo, spearheaded the funding round, with contributions from American Public Media Group’s Horizon Fund and existing investors CP Ventures.
The fresh capital will facilitate the deployment of LeadStory’s AI capabilities and support its rapidly expanding global audience, now numbering 10 million. Jesse Angelo emphasized the importance of accurate video news search, addressing a critical gap in current offerings. The platform’s AI-driven approach intends to mitigate the prevalent issue of AI hallucinations in news delivery, by providing answers through licensed, verified video content from top-tier news sources.
Co-founder and CEO Cam Price highlighted the platform’s commitment to delivering precise, fact-checked responses, enhancing trust in AI-generated news. As voice-activated AI search gains traction, LeadStory is poised to explore new possibilities in video content delivery. The platform’s partnerships with leading media outlets like CBS, CNBC, Reuters, and Euronews underpin its advanced AI functionality.
Experiencing another year of high growth, LeadStory’s FAST channels are accessible on Samsung TV Plus in multiple markets and on VIZIO in North America. The company’s collaboration with Mercedes-Benz to enhance in-car video news experiences marks a significant step in its automotive ventures. Founded in 2021, LeadStory strives to redefine news engagement through personalized, reliable content tailored to modern audiences.
