Samsung has confirmed that the red-tinted rectangle appearing in the center of some Galaxy S26 Ultra displays is a software issue that can be corrected by a calibration. The company posted an official notice in the Samsung Members app in South Korea and apologized for the inconvenience.
The affected devices show a rectangular area in the middle of the display with a reddish tint. According to Samsung, the phenomenon is resolvable via a software calibration and does not stem from a hardware defect.
Service options and forthcoming software update for Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung says owners of affected Galaxy S26 Ultra units can visit any national Samsung service center to receive an immediate, complimentary calibration regardless of their product’s remaining usage period, and same-day processing is available. The company is also preparing a software update to address the red tint; a timeline for that update will be announced soon.
