Galaxy Z Flip8: How its compact design simplifies daily life

The Galaxy Z Flip8 pairs a pocket-friendly folded design with a 4.1-inch FlexWindow for quick interactions, keeping the 6.9-inch main display folded away until more space is needed. That approach makes checking notifications, changing music and other brief tasks possible without opening the phone.

Compact dimensions and everyday convenience

At 180 grams and 13.1mm thick when folded, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is Samsung’s thinnest and lightest Galaxy Z Flip yet. Its shorter folded shape leaves more room for other items in a bag, and the cover screen lets you read messages or glance at information one-handed while carrying things.

Galaxy Z Flip8 FlexWindow: quick interactions without opening

The 4.1-inch FlexWindow supports widgets for Calendar, Weather, Samsung Health, timer and music, and quick settings are available there as well. One UI 9 lets you add, remove and rearrange widgets directly on the cover screen. Swiping up opens an app tray for supported apps, including YouTube, although not every Android app is automatically available on the FlexWindow. Now Brief brings schedule, weather and health updates into a single overview on the cover screen so a quick look can show what’s coming up without opening multiple apps.

Photography and Flex Mode

The FlexWindow doubles as a viewfinder for the 50MP rear wide camera, allowing you to frame selfies and preview recordings using the rear camera rather than relying only on the front-facing camera. Partially folding the Flip8 and placing it on a stable surface activates Flex Mode so the phone acts as its own stand; with FlexCam you can capture hands-free photos and videos using the cover screen, and a palm gesture can trigger a photo. The device can be unfolded whenever a task requires the full-size main display.

Key specifications: Weight 180g; Thickness when folded 13.1mm; Cover screen 4.1-inch FlexWindow; Main screen 6.9 inches; Rear wide camera 50MP.
