Samsung has launched its latest foldable phones—the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra—in 109 markets worldwide. The models were announced at a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026, and opened for preorder the same day in select countries.
Strong preorder response
Samsung said the new foldables recorded the highest-ever preorder figures for any Galaxy series. Preorders were 38% higher in South Korea than for last year’s models. In Europe and the US, Samsung reported preorder increases of 20% and 30%, respectively. In India, the lineup reached 271,000 preorders in 72 hours — a milestone the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 took 15 days to achieve.
Galaxy Z Fold 8: displays, size and battery
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is notable for its wider form factor. It pairs a 5.5-inch cover display with a 10:16 aspect ratio and a 7.6-inch inner foldable display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, designed to offer versatility for content consumption in both landscape and portrait orientations. Despite its dual screens and a 4,800mAh battery, the Fold 8 measures 9.7mm when folded and weighs 201g. It supports 20W wireless charging and 45W fast wired charging. The Fold 8 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor worldwide and is available in Cream, Graphite, Lavender and Pistachio.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 and its key changes
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 adopts a slightly thinner and lighter design with faster performance and a marginally longer battery life. Its cover display is more feature-rich and allows users to run any app without many workarounds. The Flip 8 comes in Cream, Graphite, Mint and Pink. It ships with the Exynos 2600 processor except in China and North America, where it uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: flagship foldable specs
Samsung positions the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as its flagship foldable. It features a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch inner foldable screen, with two 10MP front-facing cameras (one for each display). The rear camera array includes a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The Fold 8 Ultra is 8.9mm thin, weighs 215g and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 20W wireless and 45W fast wired charging. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor worldwide and is offered in Cream, Graphite, Green Shadow and Violet Shadow.
Pricing and markets
US starting prices before taxes are $1,199 for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, $1,900 for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and $2,100 for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. In Europe, Samsung has priced the Flip 8 at €1,299, the Fold 8 at €1,999 and the Fold 8 Ultra at €2,199. In South Korea, prices are KRW 1,683,000 for the Flip 8, KRW 2,278,100 for the Fold 8 and KRW 2,577,300 for the Fold 8 Ultra. Availability varies by country within the 109 markets where the phones have launched.
