Dutch startup Orange Quantum Systems has successfully raised €12 million in a seed funding round, marking the largest investment of its kind in the Netherlands’ quantum computing sector. The funds will be used to accelerate the development of scalable quantum chip testing tools, aimed at both high-volume manufacturing systems and adaptable platforms for research laboratories. The investment round was led by Icecat Capital, with participation from Cottonwood Technology Fund, QBeat Ventures, QDNL Participations, and InnovationQuarter Capital. Orange Quantum Systems seeks to address the growing need for efficient and precise quantum chip testing as the complexity of these chips increases. Their flagship product, OrangeQS MAX, sets new standards for high-volume quantum-chip testing and is being utilized by Europe’s leading quantum-computer builder, IQM, in Finland. Additionally, OrangeQS FLEX offers tailored solutions for research and development teams, while their open-source operating system, OrangeQS Juice, is being tested in various international research labs. With this new funding, Orange Quantum Systems aims to develop faster testing machines, reducing the time required to check quantum chips from weeks to days, thereby supporting the rapid growth of the quantum computing industry. CEO Garrelt Alberts expressed enthusiasm about the strong investor support, emphasizing the significance of their technology in advancing the quantum computing industry.
