The Argentine startup ReForest Latam, dedicated to large-scale ecosystem restoration, has successfully raised an oversubscribed $1 million in its pre-seed funding round. The investment was spearheaded by iThink VC, with participation from Innventure AgriFood Tech, Antom, BP Soluciones Eléctricas Confiables, Amauta Inversiones Financieras, and several angel investors. ReForest Latam employs a combination of biotechnology, drones, and artificial intelligence to enhance reforestation efforts. Their innovative iSeeds, which are capsules containing native seeds treated with microorganisms, improve germination rates and foster robust tree growth even in challenging environments. The company’s AI-powered platform assesses land conditions to identify the most suitable species for each location. Currently active in Argentina, Bolivia, and Brazil with 14 ongoing projects, ReForest Latam plans to use the new funds to advance its technology from TRL6 to TRL9 and further develop its biotechnological seed capsules.
