Saudi Arabian healthtech startup Nuxera AI has successfully raised $2.5 million in a pre-seed funding round, marking a significant advancement for Arabic-language AI in the healthcare sector. The funding round was led by Sanabil Venture Studio in collaboration with Redesign Health, reflecting increased investor confidence in Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning healthtech industry.
Established in 2024 by Amin El Hemaily, Asad Khan, and Nada Hassan, Nuxera AI focuses on optimizing hospital workflow with AI systems tailored for Arabic-speaking medical settings. Its main product, SERA, is capable of transcribing and structuring doctor-patient interactions in real-time across 28 Arabic dialects, converting them into standardized medical codes like SNOMED and ICD-10, and cutting down doctors’ documentation time by over 70%.
Additionally, the startup has developed a “Talk to Your Data” engine that allows healthcare professionals to query operational or clinical data using natural Arabic language, providing immediate insights. This innovation aims to make healthcare data more accessible and actionable without requiring technical skills.
The recent funding will enable Nuxera to expand its engineering and commercial teams, speed up deployment in Saudi hospitals, and further enhance its AI models in partnership with local healthcare providers. As the first company launched under the collaboration between Sanabil Venture Studio and Redesign Health, Nuxera will receive comprehensive support to scale its operations and refine its market strategy.
CEO and co-founder Amin El Hemaily regards the funding as a validation of Nuxera’s mission to create AI that integrates effortlessly into healthcare systems. He emphasized the goal of delivering technology that “speaks Arabic natively, understands clinical realities, and provides meaningful value to both doctors and patients.”
Nuxera’s achievements underscore Saudi Arabia’s rising status as a regional leader in health innovation and digital transformation.
