How can you give your iPhone’s lock screen a new look with iOS 26?

With the arrival of iOS 26, Apple introduces a new layer of customization for iPhone lock screens, enhancing them with adaptive time and spatial photo features. The adaptive time feature utilizes the new Liquid Glass interface, allowing the clock on the lock screen to dynamically adjust and interact with the chosen wallpaper. Meanwhile, the spatial photo feature adds depth and 3D effects to images, creating a shifting perspective as you move your phone. These features are accessible in the iOS 26 public beta and will be available to all supported devices in the full release, with spatial photos requiring an iPhone 12 or later.

To create a new lock screen, simply press and hold the current one to access customization options. Choose your wallpaper from a variety of categories, including featured photos, photo shuffle, spatial scenes, weather and astronomy, emoji, kaleidoscope, unity, pride, and more. Once an image is selected, you can adjust its appearance on the screen and apply spatial effects if desired. Additionally, users can customize the font and color of the clock and widgets, with options to switch between Glass and Solid styles.

Widgets can be added in two areas, providing quick access to weather, calendar events, reminders, and more. Control Center shortcuts can also be personalized, replacing default settings like the flashlight and camera. After finalizing the lock screen, users can pair it with their home screen wallpaper or choose a different image.

These enhancements in iOS 26 offer a more personalized experience, allowing users to tailor their lock and home screens to their preferences. For further details on the new features, users can refer to guides on iOS 26.
