How does One UI 8.5 enhance silent disco parties on Galaxy phones?

The latest update to One UI 8.5 on Galaxy phones brings a notable feature to the Connected Devices menu: Audio broadcast. This feature, though not entirely new, has been revamped and given prominence in the latest firmware update by Samsung. Audio broadcast allows users to stream music or voice from their phones or listen to nearby broadcasts using Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast technology. The key advantage of this feature is its capacity to allow an unlimited number of nearby listeners to join, making it perfect for events like silent disco parties. To set up an Audio broadcast, users need to navigate to Settings, select Connected devices, and then choose Audio broadcast. They can name their device, set a password, and decide whether to stream media or voice. Listeners can join by following similar steps and selecting the Listen tab or by scanning a QR code from the broadcasting device. While Audio broadcast builds on the Auracast feature introduced in One UI 6.1, it requires compatible headphones and devices, such as the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and newer, as well as select Galaxy phones, tablets, and laptops. As One UI 8.5 rolls out globally, more Galaxy users can explore these enhanced audio capabilities.
