Dr. Hashim Al Sayed, President of QCPA, highlighted the sweeping changes brought by AI across industries, noting its significant influence on accounting. He described AI as a strategic ally that boosts accountants’ performance and allows them to refine their skills amid ongoing digital shifts. Dr. Al Sayed advocated for updating educational programs to align with technological advancements, enabling professionals to master data analysis and smart tools.
Dr. Ali Al Kubaisi, a QCPA Board member, outlined both local and global challenges in AI adoption within accounting, including data inconsistencies, bilingual documentation issues, outdated systems, and cybersecurity risks. Abdullah Al Mansoori, another board member, discussed the intersection of sustainability and AI in accounting, stressing the importance of integrating sustainability into financial practices, especially in government and public sectors.
