Copperhelm, a cybersecurity startup specializing in agentic cloud security, has emerged from stealth mode with a $7 million seed funding round led by TLV Partners, with participation from toDay Ventures, ICON, and SaaS Ventures Israel. The company has introduced an innovative AI-based approach to cloud security, featuring artificial intelligence agents that continuously monitor cloud environments, assess security risks, and address threats in real-time.
Founded by Shimon Tolts, Eyar Zilberman, and Roman Labunsky, Copperhelm’s team boasts experience from Unity, McAfee, and RSA, and includes notable industry figures such as AWS Heroes, a CNCF Ambassador, and a GitHub Star. The startup aims to fill a gap in enterprise cloud security, where AI tools have been slower to be adopted compared to engineering departments.
Copperhelm’s CEO, Shimon Tolts, emphasized the need for AI in cloud security, stating that while engineering teams have embraced AI, security has lagged behind with manual processes. Copperhelm’s platform is specifically designed for cloud infrastructure, capable of operating across numerous accounts. Central to its system is the “Context Lake,” a real-time data layer that structures cloud information, providing AI agents with the necessary context to analyze risks and take action.
The platform features specialized agents for network analysis, system behavior monitoring, adversary simulation, and automated remediation. These agents connect directly to live workloads, inspecting processes and deploying protections like web application firewall rules without causing downtime. Rona Segev, co-founder and managing partner at TLV Partners, highlighted the importance of deep architectural expertise in applying AI to cloud security.
Copperhelm plans to use the funding to expand product development, grow its engineering team, and accelerate its go-to-market strategy. Additionally, Shay Michel, managing partner at Merlin Ventures, will join the company’s board.
