Safaricom has announced a significant upgrade to its Home Fibre services, boosting internet speeds by up to 2.5 times without any increase in cost for customers. All Home Fibre plans will see substantial improvements in speed while maintaining current pricing levels. Entry-level packages will now offer speeds up to 15 Mbps, mid-tier plans will provide 35 Mbps and 80 Mbps, and premium packages will reach up to 400 Mbps, catering to households with high internet usage demands.
Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom, emphasized that as homes become more connected, high-speed internet is essential for modern living. The upgrade aims to deliver better value to customers, strengthen market leadership, and support the development of smarter, more connected communities in Kenya. With more than 800,000 homes covered, Safaricom remains a leader in fixed internet services, driven by customer trust and reliable network performance. The speed enhancement is designed to offer greater value for current spending while preparing households for future smart technologies.
The new speed offerings include various packages such as Wi-Fi Bamba, Fibre Lite, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby, Diamond, and Platinum, each with different speed capabilities and pricing.
