TRIMTECH Therapeutics has successfully raised an additional $14 million in seed funding, increasing the total to $47 million. This financing round was led by Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Inc. and BGF, joining existing investors such as Cambridge Innovation Capital and Pfizer Ventures. Based in Cambridge, England, TRIMTECH is focused on developing small molecule therapies targeting protein aggregates linked to neurodegenerative diseases. Their TRIMTAC® and TRIMGLUE® degraders selectively eliminate toxic protein aggregates while preserving their functional forms, potentially revolutionizing treatment for conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. CEO Dr. Nicki Thompson expressed enthusiasm about the new investment, which will accelerate the development of the company’s CNS penetrant degraders. As part of the seed extension, JJDC and BGF will appoint representatives to join TRIMTECH’s board as non-executive directors.
