In the upcoming iOS 26.2 update, currently in beta, Apple introduces a new feature to the Reminders app, offering an enhanced notification system for urgent tasks. Users can now set reminders with alarms that function similarly to morning wake-up calls, complete with a snooze button and a slide-to-stop slider. These reminder alarms are easily identifiable by their unique blue snooze button, distinguishing them from standard Clock alarms. Users also have the option to replace the snooze button with a Complete button, allowing for immediate task completion.
To use this feature, users must first grant the Reminders app permission to access iPhone alarms through the Settings app. Once enabled, creating an urgent reminder is simple: open the Reminders app, create or select a reminder, tap the info button, and set the alert time. Activating the Urgent switch will ensure the alarm sounds at the designated time, even if the device is muted or a Focus mode is active. The alarm will present options to snooze, stop, complete, or reschedule the reminder.
Additionally, users can streamline the process by enabling the Complete button in the Settings app, allowing for instant task completion without opening the Reminders app. This feature is particularly useful for quick tasks. Apple plans to release iOS 26.2 in December.
