The primary decision remains screen size: the iPhone 18 Pro Max delivers the largest display and the best battery life among traditional iPhones, but it is larger and heavier — at 8.78 ounces (249 grams) it is heavier than any previous iPhone Pro Max. Some users will find the size excessive or uncomfortable to hold, while others will prefer the bigger display for media and productivity. The $100 premium for the Pro Max applies at every storage tier and may be justified by the added display area and battery life, but rising surcharges for 1TB and 2TB configurations make storage an increasingly expensive choice.
U.S. buyers should also consider the modem difference: choosing the iPhone 18 Pro Max in the United States means receiving a Qualcomm modem rather than Apple’s C2, while the smaller iPhone 18 Pro is the only model available in the U.S. with the C2.
