A drone was observed near Uddhav Thackeray’s residence, ‘Matoshree’, in Mumbai, raising security concerns. Security personnel spotted the drone on Sunday morning and informed Thackeray. The Shiv Sena (UBT) suspects it was used for surveillance and plans to file a police complaint. Mumbai Police clarified that the drone activity was part of an authorised survey by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in nearby areas. However, Aditya Thackeray questioned the legitimacy of such surveillance, especially when drones are seen inside residential premises. He criticised the authorities for not notifying residents and demanded transparency and accountability. The incident has heightened security alert levels, reflecting concerns about unauthorised surveillance of political figures.
