Is Apple Developing a New Operating System?

Apple is reportedly working on a new operating system, codenamed “Charismatic,” which is speculated to be the long-anticipated “homeOS.” This system is expected to power Apple’s upcoming smart home hub, slated for 2026, and a tabletop robot planned for 2027. The operating system will integrate features from tvOS and watchOS, including a hexagonal app grid similar to the Apple Watch. It will focus on clock faces and widgets, offering multi-user support. Users will primarily use Siri voice commands for interaction, though touch will also be available. Preinstalled apps are expected to include Calendar, Camera, Music, Reminders, and Notes. Multi-user functionality will allow the device to recognize users via a front-facing camera, adjusting settings and content to individual preferences. Further details are anticipated in the coming months.
