The consumer drone industry is on the brink of a shake-up as Antigravity, a new brand from the omnidirectional camera specialist Insta360, prepares to launch its inaugural product. Scheduled for an August unveiling, this new drone weighs under 249 grams and boasts an integrated 360-degree camera with 8K resolution, marking it as the industry’s first true “360 drone.” Previously, users had to attach separate full-degree cameras to drones. According to Antigravity’s recently launched website, the drone offers real-time data transmission and allows users to adjust shooting parameters mid-flight. After years of development, the drone aims to appeal to both seasoned experts and novices alike. Known as Yingling in Chinese, Antigravity believes the industry has stagnated, with some users disillusioned by drones that impress on paper but underwhelm in flight. While the company’s exact location remains undisclosed, it has been incubated by Shenzhen-based Insta360 in collaboration with various partners and developed by a global team of engineers, designers, and creators.
