The Galaxy S series will no longer introduce the latest Android OS version but will receive a “One UI X.5” update, which promises substantial content enhancements. This change follows Google’s early release of Android 16, which Samsung quickly adapted to for its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models. Moving forward, One UI updates will align with Android releases, with One UI 8 based on Android 16 and One UI 9 on Android 17. Despite the altered numbering, Samsung’s focus remains on delivering significant updates to its Galaxy S series.
