The price of the Switch 2 has raised concerns among gamers used to Nintendo’s traditionally budget-friendly consoles. In response, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa reassured investors that the company remains committed to its original handheld. While the Switch 2 boasts enhanced specifications capable of running AAA titles with impressive visuals, its higher cost may limit access for younger gamers. To engage this demographic, Furukawa highlighted alternative ways to experience Nintendo’s world, such as free-to-play mobile games like Mario Kart Tour and attractions in theme parks and museums. Additionally, Nintendo is expanding its presence in the movie industry with the upcoming Super Mario Bros. sequel set for release in April 2026.
