Samsung is set to implement a dual-chip strategy for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge will reportedly feature the Exynos 2600, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The distribution of these chips will vary by region, with the Exynos 2600 primarily available in Asia and Europe, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mainly in the Americas. The Exynos 2600, expected to be the first 2nm chip on the market, is manufactured using Samsung Foundry’s 2nm Gate All Around (GAA) process. This move marks Samsung’s return to Exynos chips, as the company believes it has resolved past issues and expects strong performance. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be produced on TSMC’s 3nm process. The performance of the Exynos 2600 is crucial for the future of Samsung’s System LSI division and could challenge Qualcomm’s dominance in the high-end mobile chipset market, potentially benefiting consumers.
