At CES 2026, Samsung Display introduced its first foldable OLED panel without a visible crease, likely to be featured in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 set for release later this year. This innovative panel might also be incorporated into Apple’s anticipated foldable iPhone. Observed in person at the event in Las Vegas, the new panel shows a significant improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 7, eliminating visible creases even at various angles. Samsung has established a ‘Crease Test’ area to highlight the seamless text display across the fold, enhancing the viewing experience. The new design integrates a laser-drilled metal display plate, helping to disperse stress during folding and ensuring a smooth surface. This component is expected to be supplied by Fine M-Tec from South Korea and may also be used in Apple’s foldable device.
