Is Samsung’s future in smartphones looking promising?

Although smartphone sales aren’t expanding as rapidly as they did ten years ago, the future remains bright, particularly for Samsung. This comes as a relief after the challenging periods in 2020 and 2022 when sales dropped significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, smartphone sales are anticipated to grow steadily. Sales are projected to increase by 1% this year compared to 2024 and continue to rise by 1-2% annually until 2029, even amidst ongoing economic difficulties.

The continued success of foldable smartphones from Samsung and other manufacturers indicates that this innovative design has evolved, overcoming previous hurdles to widespread acceptance. Previously perceived as fragile and cumbersome, the latest foldable models, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, are now sleek, lightweight, and powerful, boasting dual screens. Samsung’s latest releases, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, have seen remarkable demand, thanks to their enhanced features like larger displays, faster processors, and improved design. Meanwhile, Apple is anticipated to introduce its first foldable iPhone later this year, utilizing Samsung’s OLED technology.

In a bid to stay ahead, Samsung is rumored to unveil its first tri-folding phone by the year’s end. This innovative device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor, a triple-camera system akin to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a large 10-inch display, and a design that is both thin and lightweight.
