Is Samsung’s P9 Express microSD card a game-changer for Nintendo Switch 2 users in Europe?

Samsung has launched its fastest microSD card, the P9 Express, in the UK and Europe, aiming to enhance the gaming experience for Nintendo Switch 2 users just in time for Black Friday deals. Boasting sequential read speeds of up to 800MB/s, the P9 Express outpaces traditional SATA SSDs by 1.4 times, utilizing a PCIe interface and NVMe protocol for superior performance. Available in 256GB and 512GB capacities, the card offers write speeds of up to 200MB/s and 310MB/s, depending on the size.

This week marks the availability of the P9 Express across Europe, including countries like Germany, France, and the Netherlands. Though listed on e-shops, online orders are not yet open. In Europe, the card is priced at approximately €70 for the 256GB version and €113 for the 512GB version, while in the USA, prices start at $55.

Designed for next-generation portable gaming, the P9 Express is not only fast but also robust, withstanding water, extreme temperatures, X-rays, magnetic fields, and drops. The Nintendo Switch 2, equipped with 256GB of internal storage, reserves about 25GB for its system. As digital games evolve, storage needs might increase, making early investment in additional storage a prudent choice for avid gamers.
