Energy technology company SLB has introduced a new artificial intelligence tool designed to automate processes and workflows for oilfield service companies. This tool, named Tela, will be integrated into SLB’s suite of applications and platforms, allowing users to engage through a straightforward conversational interface. Tela agents can operate alongside humans or independently, making decisions on tasks such as interpreting well logs, forecasting drilling challenges, and enhancing equipment efficiency. According to Rakesh Jaggi, SLB’s president of Digital & Integration, the digital sector has significantly contributed to the company’s revenue growth, with an 11% increase in the third quarter compared to the second. The company has recently started reporting its digital business as a separate division and anticipates double-digit sales growth annually for this segment.
