Is the Galaxy S26+ Being Dropped from Samsung’s Next Lineup?

Samsung is preparing to launch its next-generation Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, but it appears the lineup will undergo significant changes. Traditionally, Samsung’s Galaxy S series features three models: Base, Plus, and Ultra. However, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series is set for a rebranding, introducing the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. This rebranding means the base model will now be called Pro, and the Plus variant will be replaced by the Edge model.

The decision to replace the Plus model with the Edge is attributed to declining sales of the Plus variant in recent years. For instance, during the Galaxy S25 series pre-orders, the Plus model only accounted for 22% of sales, while the base and ultra models captured 52% and 26%, respectively. As a result, Samsung has instructed its suppliers to prepare for the mass production of components for the Galaxy S26 Edge, confirming the absence of a Galaxy S26+ in the next lineup.
