Should WhatsApp users in Qatar update their app due to a security flaw?

In Doha, Qatar’s National Cybersecurity Agency has issued a high-level alert urging WhatsApp users to update their app immediately. A critical vulnerability was discovered in WhatsApp by Meta, the app’s parent company. This flaw involves the synchronization message processing between linked devices, which could allow attackers to send malicious links and gain access to victims’ devices. The threat is exacerbated when combined with another recent vulnerability affecting Apple devices, which has been used in targeted attacks. Users are strongly advised to update their WhatsApp applications without delay.
