The upcoming iOS 26.1 update for iPhone is set to introduce several exciting features. One notable addition is the new swipe gesture in Apple Music, allowing users to easily switch tracks by swiping on the MiniPlayer. This intuitive feature enhances the music browsing experience by letting users swipe left for the next song and right for the previous one.
Another significant update is the expansion of AirPods Live Translation, which will now support five additional languages, bringing the total to eleven. This feature, available on AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4 (ANC model), enables real-time translation, facilitating communication across different languages.
Lastly, iOS 26.1 addresses user feedback on alarm and timer interfaces. The previous design featured large buttons that could be accidentally tapped, causing alarms to be dismissed. The update introduces a ‘Swipe to stop’ feature, reminiscent of older iPhone gestures, to prevent accidental dismissals and ensure consistency across alarms and timers.
