Apple’s first foldable iPhone is anticipated to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models in fall 2026, bringing two groundbreaking features that could distinguish it from its competitors. The device is expected to feature a 24-megapixel under-display camera integrated into the inner screen, a first in the industry, marking a significant advancement over the lower-resolution under-screen cameras found in current Android foldables. This suggests Apple has made strides in enhancing light transmittance and image clarity. Additionally, the foldable iPhone is set to incorporate high-density battery cells, with capacities potentially exceeding 5,000 mAh, making it the largest battery ever in an iPhone. With a 7.8-inch main display when unfolded, a 5.5-inch cover display, and Touch ID, the device will also include four cameras: a front hole-punch camera, the under-screen camera, and a dual-lens 48-megapixel rear system. Expected to be priced between $2,000 and $2,500, it could become the most expensive iPhone to date.
