Samsung has announced the details of its January 2026 security patch for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. This update addresses a total of 55 security vulnerabilities, with 23 originating from Google—though two are not relevant to Samsung devices—4 from Samsung Semiconductor, and 30 from Samsung Mobile. The company has categorized one vulnerability as critical, 28 as high-risk, and 3 as moderate-risk. Recently, Samsung rolled out the third beta of One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) to the Galaxy S25 series, which includes the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, integrating the January 2026 security patch. This makes the Galaxy S25 series the first to receive the update. Samsung is anticipated to extend the release to other Galaxy phones and tablets in the coming days.
