Apple is set to maintain the display sizes for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models, with the Pro version featuring a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max offering a 6.9-inch display, consistent with the current iPhone 17 lineup. However, significant changes are anticipated in the design of the display. Rumors suggest that Apple might introduce under-display Face ID technology, potentially eliminating the need for the Dynamic Island currently housing the TrueDepth camera system. Speculation is rife regarding whether the Dynamic Island will be completely removed or merely reduced in size. Some reports indicate a shift to a single pinhole camera design, while others suggest a narrower Dynamic Island cutout, approximately 35% smaller than its predecessor. Apple is reportedly testing advanced camera miniaturization techniques to achieve this. The final decision on the design appears to have been made recently, with options including retaining the existing screen mold or adopting a smaller “Mini Dynamic Island.” The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to launch in September, while other models like the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 might be delayed until March 2027.
