As the anticipation builds for Apple’s September “Awe Dropping” event, the spotlight is on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro, which is set to receive several significant updates. The new models will retain the same sizes as their predecessors, with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays. However, a notable redesign is expected on the back, featuring a mix of aluminum and glass instead of a full-glass look. The camera bump will be transformed into a rectangular bar, with lenses arranged in a triangular pattern and changes to the flash and LiDAR sensor positions. This redesign could enhance 5G connectivity and improve overall efficiency with Apple’s in-house Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip.
The iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to be slightly thicker, possibly accommodating a larger battery. A new color option, described as a bold copper shade, might join the traditional palette of black, white, and gray. The display will maintain its OLED technology but may include a new anti-reflective coating for better durability and performance.
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Pro will feature the new A19 Pro chip, promising improved speed and efficiency with a 3-nanometer process, alongside a vapor chamber cooling system. An increase to 12GB RAM is expected, enhancing multitasking capabilities. The battery might exceed 5,000mAh, offering longer usage, and Qi 2.2 support will enable faster wireless charging.
Camera enhancements are a focal point, with all three lenses upgraded to 48 megapixels. The telephoto lens may support up to 8x optical zoom, and dual video recording could become a new feature. An upgraded front-facing camera and the possibility of 8K video recording are also on the table.
Pricing remains uncertain, with potential increases due to tariffs, but the iPhone 17 Pro might start with 256GB of storage. The tech community eagerly awaits more details as the launch approaches.
