What Are the New Features of the iPhone 17 Models Launching on September 19?

Apple is set to unveil its latest iPhone 17 lineup, including the ultra-thin iPhone Air, on Friday, September 19. The iPhone 17 series introduces notable enhancements, such as a larger 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with ProMotion support, offering adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz for smoother visuals. The display’s peak outdoor brightness has increased to 3000 nits, and it features improved scratch resistance with Ceramic Shield 2.

The camera system has been upgraded with an 18-megapixel front-facing camera and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide rear camera, allowing for higher resolution photos and features like Dual Capture for simultaneous front and rear recording. The A19 chip, built on a 3-nanometer process, powers the device, promising better performance and efficiency, which extends battery life up to 30 hours of video playback.

The iPhone Air stands out with its 5.6mm thickness, making it the thinnest iPhone yet, and features a titanium frame and a 6.5-inch display. It shares many features with the iPhone 17, including the A19 Pro chip, but with a slightly different GPU configuration.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models feature a new camera plateau design, housing a triple 48MP camera system with enhanced zoom capabilities. They boast improved battery life, reaching up to 39 hours of video playback on the Pro Max model.

Pre-orders are now open, with a global launch on September 19, alongside the new Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and AirPods Pro 3.
