What can we expect from CES 2026?

CES 2026 is set to officially open on January 6 in Las Vegas, focusing heavily on AI innovations. However, the event kicked off over the weekend with exclusive previews and presentations for the media. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) offered a glimpse into emerging tech trends, showcasing products like robotic pets, AI interpreter earbuds, and health-focused devices such as the Body Scan 2. Major companies, including Bosch, Hyundai, and Sony Honda, used the pre-show period to unveil new technologies.

Brian Comiskey from CTA highlighted the industry’s growth, projecting a revenue of $565 billion in 2026, driven by increases in hardware and software spending. Melissa Harrison noted the significant role of streaming services, especially ad-supported models, in boosting revenue. The rise of short-form video content and AI’s transformative impact on video production were also emphasized.

Three key forces shaping the tech industry were identified: Intelligent Transformation through AI, Longevity Technologies for health and wellness, and Engineering Tomorrow with advancements in electrification and energy management. AI’s integration into workplaces is notable, with over 40% of workers in surveyed countries utilizing it, significantly enhancing productivity.

The event continues with various presentations and keynotes, including insights from AMD’s CEO on future AI solutions.
