Samsung is preparing to introduce several new products at its upcoming Unpacked event, anticipated to take place next month. Among these, there is growing anticipation surrounding the company’s smart glasses, which have been the subject of numerous reports. Recently, a significant leak has provided new insights into the Galaxy Glasses project.
The development appears to be progressing well, suggesting a launch could be imminent. A glimpse into the Galaxy Glasses manager app reveals its role in pairing the smart glasses with mobile devices, allowing users to access a variety of features. While the glasses shown in the leaked images are not the Galaxy Glasses themselves, but rather Warby Parker-branded models developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, they offer a hint at what’s to come.
The smart glasses will operate on One UI XR, a system we’ve previously encountered on the Galaxy XR headset, built on Google’s Android XR platform. Through the app, users will be able to control various functions, adjust settings, install updates, and transfer media captured by the glasses.
Although a complete exploration of the features requires pairing the smart glasses with the app, additional details have been uncovered through code within the app. Samsung is also developing a separate Galaxy Glasses Controller app for Galaxy smartwatches, with references to gesture control via the Galaxy Ring.
The app will be compatible with both Samsung’s smart glasses and those developed with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, adding to the excitement for Samsung’s forthcoming Unpacked event.
