What is the battery capacity of the foldable iPhone Ultra?

Apple’s battery supplier has registered two new battery cells, suggesting they may be for the anticipated foldable iPhone. The two cells reportedly have capacities of 1,921mAh and 2,962mAh, totaling a minimum of 4,883mAh. The overall battery capacity is expected to be between 4,800mAh and 5,000mAh. This dual-cell design aligns with other foldable smartphones that distribute the battery across the device’s halves. For comparison, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a 5,015mAh battery, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a 4,400mAh capacity.

Earlier reports suggested Apple was testing a larger battery of 5,400mAh to 5,800mAh, but this might have been an initial test configuration. Apple is reportedly focusing on improving power efficiency and reducing component size, with battery life being a priority. The foldable iPhone is expected to have a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover display, Touch ID, an A20 chip, and Apple’s C2 modem in certain regions. It is anticipated to be launched as the “iPhone Ultra” alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models, with an expected unveiling in September. The device might have an average selling price of $2,500, with high-end models potentially reaching $3,000.
